I spent a few hours this morning on Lake Ripley . The fish have definitely moved to their postspawn haunts as I was able to locate a group of fish on the outside weedline. The flats and shallows did not produce for me.

I located my fish by covering water and throwing a Rapala DT-10 to the weedline edges until I caught a fish. Then I was able to follow-up the crank with a jig worm to pull the bulk of the fish off the edge. I was using a 1/8 ounce Black Gambler Giggy Head threaded with a Green Pumpkin - Red Flake Giggy Stick. I did not experiment too much with color as the first one I tied on produced. In total I found 3 spots in about 4 hours with multiple

(4-6 fish) coming off of each spot. Typically, I was positioning the boat in about 16+ feet and casting to the 12-foot edge.

Cranking Rig: Rogue Rods MB703CBB (crankbait blend) with 15 lb P-Line.

Giggy Head Rig: Rogue Rods SJ663S with 10 lb trilene XL.

The picture below was from my Humminbird 997C side imaging unit on one of the weedline points. This unit makes very quick work in defining weedline edges. No more criss-crossing weedlines for me this year. In the picture you can see the weedline point on the right and the softer bottom on the outside. I was going pretty fast when I first went by the point, and then I slowed down to take the picture. That particular point, however, only produced one fish.
