Bass Fishing Report: Red Cedar Lake - Mikana , Wisconsin – 7/6/07

Water temperature 83 degrees – wind 4 mph out of the northwest.

The smallmouth fishing is still very good on Red Cedar Lake. Brian Beebe (deafboy for the FB Message Board) and I got out today and fished from 8am to 1pm. Although there is a good population of largemouth in this 3 lake chain, our target was smallmouth. We fished 6 or 7 of the many mid-lake humps and found the fish cooperative.

Look for 9 to 13’ of water with 30’ of water close by and you will find fish. I alternated between a Carolina rig, a Get Bit Baits 3.5” tube, and a drop shot. Brian used the tube all day. The quality and quantity of fish was excellent with the largest being 5 pounds 2 ounces and 20 ½” long. With a 4 and several 3 and 3.5 lb fish.

If you get some spare time, get out there – you will be glad you did!
