Water
temperature 72 degrees – wind 1 mph out of the southwest. I fished a Thursday night tournament on Red Cedar,
from 5:30pm to 9pm. The Smallmouth have finished spawning, but the bite
is still awesome. All of the fish we caught were on mid-lake humps in
depths ranging from 8 to 14 feet with 25’ to 30’ depths being the
first drop. The mayflies are starting to be a factor, so I downsized my presentation to a 2 ½” Get Bit Baits tube in green pumpkin/copper flake. In the 3 ½ hours of fishing that we had, we boated 20+keepers in the 15” to 19” range, and finished in 4th with a 3lb 2 ounce average weight. |
