Bass Fishing Report; Mississippi River Pool 9; June 24-25, 2006

Air Temperature:  75 degree
Water Temperature:  77 degrees
Weather:  Overcast with periods of rain and sun

On Saturday I got to have a very memorable day on the water with my dad. I wasn't able to see him last weekend for fathers day, so on Saturday we hit pool 9 to pre-fish for Sunday's Team Supreme tournament. Despite some minor trolling motor difficulty in the morning we were able to get in some good practice and fishing in before the end of the day. Here is my dad pictured with a quality pool 9 bass that hit an RC Tackle swimming jig with a B-Fish-N Tackle K-Grub. My dad had never thrown a swimming jig before, but it didn't take long for him to get the hang of it and start catching fish!!

Throwing swimming jigs, Cane Toads and tubes on grass and pads was what we were focusing on.

When tourney time came on Sunday, my partner (Alex Welter) and I were ready to get after em! We ended up finishing 11th with 18.68 lb. including a hefty 4.67 lb. fish. We fished hard all day long and had a great day on the water catching a lot of fish. Here is a picture of Alex and I with four of our fish. This was a great weekend for me, not only did we have a good tournament, but I got to teach my dad a new technique for bass fishing and see him catch his biggest bass of the year!! Looking forward to the upcoming weekend, when I get to spend four days on the water!! Everyone be safe and courteous on the water this upcoming holiday weekend.
