Bass Fishing Report; Mississippi River Pool 9; April 28, 2007
On
Saturday, I ventured up to pool 9 for a little change of water. I spent
only a couple hours on the water before the wind picked up, but I was
able to locate some good fish. Fishing along a flat, I was catching
small males on swim jigs and spinnerbaits. Located near this flat, which
was 2-4 ft deep was a hole that was 5-7 ft deep, that the bigger fish
were stacked up in. Throwing
crankbaits took the large majority of the fish including one quality
smallmouth and several quality largemouths. After the bite slowed on the
crank, I switched over to a Carolina-rigged lizard and caught this
healthy 3 lb. fish. |
