Bass Fishing Report; Mississippi River Pool 8; June 5, 2006 I was able to slip out for a few hours
yesterday afternoon on Pool 8. The winds were strong coming out of the
South, which made the main channel very choppy. Tried some rocks off the
main channel right away and found a couple keeper smallies using
black/red tubes. I then decided to get out of the wind and chop and head
to the weeds off the channel. The bite was tough right away during the
high sun. Water has warmed up a little, sitting at about 77 degrees in
some areas and the water clarity was good, despite the water level
dropping. As the sun set, the bite picked up and managed to get a limit
of decent fish. Nothing too large, mostly 2+ largies. They were hitting
black/blue Brovarney swim jigs
brought over the top of the weeds quickly. |
