I was out on Pool 8 again today to take advantage of the good weather. The winds were howling today from the south, but it was tolerable. Caught a total of 48 fish today and it was about 50/50 largemouth to smallmouth. I found the smallmouth in a slough in current breaks. Water temp was around 59 degrees and fished in around 6 feet of water. Water clarity was very good. Noticed some baitfish around and a good sand bottom and thought they'd be holding. Threw primarily jerkbaits/X-Raps, but also caught the smallies on spinnerbaits and cranks. In a 2 hour time frame, hooked 20+ fish, mostly keepers and biggest around 3.5lbs. They have been eating well in there because their bellies were huge!
