Bass Fishing Report; Mississippi River Pool 7; June 21, 2006

We had a pretty good night on the water, fishing mainly laydowns in a back slough. I stuck the largemouth tucked up tight to a laydown in current with a dark blue tube. We also found some largemouth under cut banks...but you had to be fishing the right ones.

Smallmouth were found on a sand drop using a C-Rigged senko. We were sitting in about 9-10ft of water, throwing up over a sand hump where we saw fish actively feeding. Out of six casts, 5 keepers were caught.

I was actually surprised at the quantity of fish that were caught last night. The conditions were pretty bad with the pressure changes throughout the day and high sun in the afternoon. The recent rain fall made the water clarity kind of bad in areas we were in. I thought the bite would be tough for everyone, but apparently the fish were still on a feeding frenzy.
