Last night I was able to get
out for a local club tourney and managed to catch my limit of 2 fish
on Pool 7 (
Lake
Onalaska
). The largemouth seem to be scattered for the most part in
submerged weeds unless you can find them cornered somewhere chasing
bait fish. Water clarity was VERY good on the lake right now so I
initially threw a white/gold/silver spinnerbait and caught a few
shorts. I then switched up to a dark blue/black 1/4oz Brovarney swim
jig. That seemed to be the ticket as they hammered it when you put
it in front of the face! The biggest fish out of 8 boats on the
water was only 2.7lbs, hopefully that will improve over the next
week or so. The water temp was a little warmer on the lake reaching
65 degrees in some areas. We also tried flipping 7 ft banks with
lay-downs and really couldn't find anything going like I had found
on pool 8.
