Bass Fishing Report: Mississippi River Pool 4 - September 10, 2006

The morning started off cool and cloudy. Wind out of the SE at 5-15. We started fishing rock points and wing dams with Rattle Traps and Tubes. We produced several Smallmouth and Largemouth on most of the spots we stopped at. The biggest being 3 ½ lbs.

Later in the day we started fishing under cut banks and shallow weeds. We found good number of Largemouth on the under cut banks. The weed fishing also produced very well with most of our fish coming in under 2 FOW. Eel grass seemed to be the key holding a lot of Shad. Water temps are falling rapidly. Friday the water temps were around 70. By Sunday, the temps have dropped to 62-52 degrees. Shad are still all around and the active fish are feeding heavy.
