Bass Fishing Report: Mississippi River Pool 4 - July 29, 2006

I fished Pool 4 with a good friend of mine. We start out fishing where ever you could find some current with grass on it. We caught around 30 Largie’s and Smallie’s  today. We concentrated  on eel grass with open pockets. Throwing dark colored Swim Jigs, Toads and Spro Frogs  seemed to be the best pattern for us. Water temps were in the low to mid 80’s and we found most of our fish in the 1-3 foot ranger. We did not seem to find any fish deeper than 5 feet. The fish were chasing minnows in some areas and the top water bite was awesome. Later in the day heavier cover like Lilly pads was the key.

Good Fishing
