Bass Fishing Report: Mississippi River Pool 4 - May 13, 2007

Water temps are in the upper 60’s and the spawn is happening right now. I have fished two tournaments the last two weekends and have caught a lot of fish, mostly Largemouth. The fish have seemed to be shallow and staging for the spawn. Wood and undercut banks with current on them have seemed to be the key for me right now.

Presentations have ranged from Senko type baits, creature baits, to tubes and swim jigs. Brovarney Swim Jigs in White and Gill have been working the best.

The flow is still good, but water levels are low for this time of year. Be careful when running off channel because of sand flats and closing dams are near the surface and will cause a lot of damage to your boats and motors.
