I fished for a short time on pool 18 but I found the water too high for the area I wanted to fish so I had a picnic with the kids and then headed to pool 16. While this is not one of the more popular pools it does have a good number of bass in it.

I fished the backwater in the Andalusia Slough area and found 4 average bass just after talking to a couple of other bass anglers in that area that said they were not biting. I caught them all on a watermelon colored Yum wooly hawg tail.

The water was about a foot above normal here and the temperature was 51-55 degrees. The sky was overcast with a light wind.

I know this wasn't a great report but I spent most of the weekend playing with the kids since the river was so high. I'll start getting serious about fishing this weekend as tournaments start on the 23rd.
