The
day was cloudy and rained a little bit just before lunch. The water
temperature was 75 degrees and the air temp was about the same. The wind
was blowing 10-20mph and we found the water to be unusually clear and
the current was slower than expected.
We
caught many largemouth in the lower end of the pool on both wood and
grass on jigs, spinnerbaits and tubes. Many of these fish were holding
under the matted grass and would rush out and grab the bait while others
were holding on stumps of other laydowns. We spend a good deal of time
looking for the consistant bite that I can usually find in the current but
the only active fish we found today were in completely slack water.
