Bass Fishing Report; Lake Wisconsin, Aug 25, 2007
By: Paul Strege

Conditions:
Slight Breeze, Sunny,
73 deg surface water temp.

I arrived at Lake Wisconsin to find that the water was not as muddy as I had expected following the previous week’s heavy rains. As a result, I decided to run up the river from the lake. I second guessed my decision as I reached the I-94 bridge, where the water had turned turbid and chocolate milk in color. I spent my entire day fishing the bays, docks and shorelines of the lake. The water clarity was much improved, but there was plenty of debris carried down river with the rains. I found a couple keeper fish pitching main lake shoreline with a 3/8 ounce Gambler Ninja Jig tipped with a Flappy Daddy in emerald blue color. Today, however, was more of a lesson in what was not working: a slop bite was non-existent in the areas that I explored; and milfoil and other quality weedbeds were scarce. Overall, it was a tough day of fishing.

Flipping Gear: Rogue Rods Flipping Stick FS 766 XC with 15 lb P-Line Floroclear. Black / Blue Gambler Ninja Jig (3/8 oz) with Flappy Daddy Trailer.
