Bass Fishing Report; Smithland Pool; 9-15-07

Weather:           Sunny, 78 degrees, Light Wind
Water:               Main River Clear, Creeks Variable
Pool Level:         30.20

The recent stretch of cool weather has the fish starting a fall type pattern. Look shallow in the backs of creeks, main river flats and mouths of creeks. We used a run and gun type approach while fishing the anglers choice event on 9-15-07 hitting as many areas as we could fit in the day.

The most productive baits were crankbaits, spinnerbaits and darting a tube. During the day we boated six keeper fish with two weighing over three pounds and the best five weighing a little over twelve pounds. The fishing is really starting to improve and was looking forward to fishing the 16th but had motor problems when leaving our first stop. With the shorter days and colder nights this pattern should only improve.
