Bass
Fishing Report; Kentucky and Barkley Lakes; 3/22/2007
Both
lakes are about 1.5 ft over winter pool. Both lakes levels have
been fluctuating between present levels and .5 ft over winter pool every
few days over the last couple of weeks. We should see the lakes
levels to start a slow rise toward summer pool sometime late next week.
The lake water temperatures dropped 5 degrees last weekend with the
nasty cold front that came thru the area but are recovering daily with
the abnormally high temperatures we have had this week accompanied by
high southern winds. I expect we will continue to see the lake
temperatures rise over the next several days as the forecast is for more
of this great warm March weather. Overall the bite on the bass and
crappie have been good this week as the waters are continuing to warm
but high winds on some days have made it tough to effectively fish
many areas. Largemouth
Bass: Largemouth are being taken on the main lake primary and
secondary points as well as on the secondary points and creek channel
banks in the front portions of the creeks and bays. These fish are
primarily being taken on suspending jerkbaits, crankbaits, Smallmouth
