Bass
Fishing Report; Kentucky and Barkley Lakes; Mar. 1, 2007
Both
lakes are almost two feet over winter pool. Largemouth
Bass: Although I have not yet received a large number of reports,
the reports that I have received this week indicate that the Largemouth
are being taken on main lake points by fishing with finesse jigs and
shakey heads with a few being taken with suspending jerkbaits.
This bite should get a lot better when the water warms up a few more
degrees over the next week or 10 days. Smallmouth
Bass: As with the Largemouth reports, the Smallmouth reports have
been few this week also. I did get a report of a few Smallmouth
being taken on main lake points with suspending jerkbaits but the bite
was reported to be slow. Look for this bite to also improve very
soon with rising water temperatures. I
returned home Monday from my travels over the past month doing bass
fishing seminars. I would like to thank the folks that came by to
see me at the If
