Bass
Fishing Report; Kentucky and Barkley Lakes; 11/9/2007
Both
lakes are two feet over winter pool and on a slow drawdown. The
fall feeding patterns are holding up good with good catches of
Largemouth on most days. The Crappie anglers are reportedly doing
well also. We has a cold front come through the lakes area
yesterday but the fishing should recover quickly and the weather
forecast for the weekend and next week looks good for some great
fall fishing. Largemouth
Bass: The Largemouth are being taken on the secondary creek
channel points and on the flats in the backs of the creeks and bays.
These fish are feeding heavily on schools of baitfish and can be taken
on topwater lures, shallow running and lipless crankbaits, spinnerbaits
and soft jerkbaits. Some Largemouth are also being taken on main
lake primary points on crankbaits and suspending jerkbaits. Smallmouth
Bass: Smallmouth Bass are being taken on main lake primary and
secondary points on crankbaits, suspending jerkbaits, jigs and grubs.
The Smallmouth reports are still somewhat few in numbers but this should
change soon. I did get a late report this week of a good catch on
the main lake flats near wood cover on spinnerbaits. Some
of the productive lures reported this week are: Lucky Craft sammy
and gunfish in ghost pearl lemon, Lucky Craft pointer in chartreuse
shad, Strike King crankbaits in sexy shad, Lewis rattletraps in
blue/chrome and black/chrome, Hook Some Bass spinnerbaits in blue
glimmer and Zoom super flukes in shad patterns. As
we said all last month...November is always the best of the fall bass
fishing. I have some days open for booking this month if you want
to get in that last fishing trip or two before winter gets here.
If you are in need of a guide for some fun bass fishing, tournament
preparation, lake familiarization or technique instruction don't
hesitate to give me a call or drop me an email. If
you have not started making plans for your next season's spring fishing
you should do so soon or you may not be able to get the date(s) you
want. A
gift certificate for a guided bass fishing trip makes a great gift for
Christmas or other special occasion. These certificates are good
for one year from date of purchase. These trip certificates are
good for one or two people. If you buy before Christmas you will
be able to purchase the certificate at this year's prices which will
result in a savings of 25.00 off the price of a trip next season.
Contact me via email or phone for more information. Captain.
