Bass Fishing Report; Kentucky and Barkley Lakes; Jan. 5, 2007
Bass Buster Guide Service

Kentucky Lake :
Water level at Ky Dam - 355.76
Surface Temperature - 48

Lake Barkley :
Water level at Barkley Dam - 355.8
Surface Temperature - 50

Both lakes are nearing two feet over winter pool as a result of heavy rains upriver late last week.  Both lakes have current flowing.  Although not a lot of reports are available I did receive some reports from anglers that were on the lakes over the past holiday weekend.

Largemouth Bass and Smallmouth Bass:  I had reports of both of these species being taken on main lake points and on rip rap banks on Ky Lake with suspending jerkbaits, suspending crankbaits and blade lures.  The reports indicated that Lucky Craft pointers in chartruese shad, Rapala Husky Jerks in blue/chrome/orange, suspended Bomber crankbaits in white and silver buddies in silver and gold were taking fish.  I had a report of a 20lb 5 fish bag being taken in a small tournament on suspending jerkbaits but did not get the information on what model or color pattern.

NOTE:  My website and email both were down quite a bit over the past 3 weeks.  This was due to a major server crash at the isp that hosted my website.  My website and email consequently was moved to another isp last week and as of yesterday both the website and email seem to be working good.  If you emailed me over the past 3 weeks and did not receive an answer it is because I did not receive any of the emails that were sent to me during the outage.  I apologize for this inconvenience.  Please feel free to contact me again now by email or call me at the number below.

If you have not booked your spring and early summer fishing trips you should do so as soon as possible.  If you are in need of a bass guide for some fun bass fishing, tournament preparation, lake familiarization or technique instruction don't hesitate to call me or drop me an email.
