BASS
Well it seems we have finally escaped summer’s high temperatures! Today there was a cool breeze all day and you could feel the heat rising from the water. For the past several weeks I’ve been catching fish relatively deep, but with the cooler temps today, I’ve noticed more activity shallow. We caught Largemouth Bass surface busting.

A few days ago I had a good bite 19ft deep on main lake rock flats. Today we caught Largemouth Bass on 6ft deep main lake flats. The bass were breaking surface-busting shad and Seagulls were diving on the injured shad. This is a good time to throw spinner baits, poppers, spooks, spoons, tail spinners, crank baits, or soft plastics. The bite can really be hot and heavy at times throughout September. There is an abundance of grass on the main lake east bank, south of the 68 bridge, and bass were in it! Try top water in the morning, then soft plastics later in the day along outer grass edges.

BS SECTION
September is one of my favorite months for catching fish on Kentucky Lake . The biggest problem I find with this month is trying to decide which species to fish for: Black Bass, Crappie, White Bass, or Catfish? They’re all biting! Why not take advantage of the good weather and good fishing?
