Bass
Fishing Report; Kentucky and Barkley Lakes; Aug 30, 2006 Water
Temp: 84 (and falling) BASS A few days ago I had a good bite 19ft deep on main lake rock flats. Today we caught Largemouth Bass on 6ft deep main lake flats. The bass were breaking surface-busting shad and Seagulls were diving on the injured shad. This is a good time to throw spinner baits, poppers, spooks, spoons, tail spinners, crank baits, or soft plastics. The bite can really be hot and heavy at times throughout September. There is an abundance of grass on the main lake east bank, south of the 68 bridge, and bass were in it! Try top water in the morning, then soft plastics later in the day along outer grass edges.
