Bass Fishing Report; Lake Egypt ; Mar. 11, 2007 |

The
morning was cool and mostly clear for the annual S.I.U. Bass Tournament.
The turn out was great! (84boats) If you didn't fish this tournament be
sure to come next year and join us. Also coming this weekend Tom Samples
( OWNER PYRAMID ACRES) and Dennis Dunn (OWNER DUNNS
SPORTING GOODS) are hosting a 100% payback tournament for the fisherman
of Now
for the fishing report: We
started our day off on a main lake point about 2/3 the way down the
lake. We fished this area with crankbaits and jigs, landing one keeper
fish on a black and blue jig in about 6 foot of water. Tyson raised the
trolling motor and we headed to the back of a near by creek. We stayed
in this area for a couple of hours, catching 7 keepers over 16 inches in
length on rattle traps and crankbaits. (Bandit 100 series) We fan casted
and fished the banks catching several other fish. We decided to leave
this area to search for more quality fish. Our
next stop was a pocket off the main lake, here we caught several fish
and culled twice on a crankbait. Again we went in search for larger
fish. Running up to the main lake, in the ski area, to fish the clearer
water, thinking it would be the best choice for the kicker fish we
needed. Catching only small fish, we headed back to the dingy water by
Wagon Creek to try to upgrade once again. We were running short on time
with 5 keeper bass in the box that weighed about 15 pounds. Catching
4 more keepers and a few shorties, it was time to head to the scales.
Sometimes you need a little luck to get that kicker fish. The
bass are pushing shallow and going into full pre-spawn mode, they are
very vulnerable to crankbaits, jigs, MATT
