Bass Fishing Report; Lake Egypt ; Dec. 29, 2006

SnS Guide Service

Date: Friday, Dec. 29 2006
Location: Lake of Egypt
Lake Temp : 45 degrees  (South End) 60 (North End)
Bass: Good catch  (8 Bass)
Wind: 2 - 7 mph out of ESE
Barometer: 30.31
Conditions: Cloudy
Arrival: 1:00 pm
Depart: 5:00 pm

Always launching my boat on the north end it is tempting to just put the trolling motor down and start fishing “especially when the water temp is 60 deg”, but today I had my mind set to run down the lake and stay. The water Temp. there was 45 deg. I fished in the Dry Fork area all four hours and it paid off pretty well. I caught 8 bass, 4 over 16 in. and 4 under 14 in. The four larger bass were 17 1/2 to 18 in. long, averaging about 3 pounds each. I caught 2 over and 3 under on a Rapala DT 6 crankbait with 10lb. P-Line . The other three were caught on 8lb P-Line throwing a Shakey head.  After 4 hours of fishing I had a tournament stringer of 12 1/2 - 13lbs. All and all I consider it to be a successful afternoon.
