The bass fishing has been pretty good. The bass I caught were in 3
- 7 foot of water. A wide variety of lures are working right now. My
choices are Lipless Crankbaits, in a craw pattern ; Carolina Rig, with a
baby brush hog & 1/4 ounce jig in black ; and a Crankbait, which is my
favorite for this
time of year. Start around points with grass and you should get bit. I
was cranking a
Jackall Mc 60 on 10 lb
Vicious line
in Tennessee shad color. Throw the bait into and around the edges of
the grass. When the bait gets hung, pop it out with a fast jerk. This
will trigger a strike and clean your hooks.
These new Crankbaits are awesome! You must give one a try.
Its just about the same way on the Lipless Crainkbait, if you are not
getting stuck in the grass somewhat, your not going to get bit very
often.
The craw pattern is producing well. Grass
flats and
points are producing fish.
The bass can be caught in just about any part of the lake. Don't be
afraid to fish the colder water at the
South End . Just slow your retrieve and be patient and you will get'em. |
