Bass Fishing Report; Lake Egypt ; Nov. 3, 2007 |

Well for you fisherman who are waiting on some
crappie info here we go. The crappie bite has started and started good.
The fish have begun to move up with the cooling water. Tyson was casting 1/16 ounce curly tail jigs in
watermelon color to the edge of weedbeds.
He found several large fish (10), with the biggest weighing in close to
2 pounds! What a slab, these fillets didn't last long as he reported. For the greenbacks, well about the same. You need
an arsenal, ranging from a spinnerbait, jig and pig, shaky head, tube,
and a Snag Proof frog Fishing the weed beds with a Snag Proof frog is
one of my favorite choices for a quality bite. The Pro Series popin
frog,in white or black is a great choice. On the spinnerbait, I like a white skirt, with
silver double willow blades in 3/8 to a 1/2 ounce. Try burning over the
tops of weeds with the 3/8 ounce, or fishing parallel
with the outside weed edge in the 1/2 ounce. On the tube use a 1/2 to 3/4 ounce tungsten weight
and punch through the weed mats, and don't forget to peg your weight.
Watermelon, green pumpkin and black with blue flake are my favorite
choices. Use some dip and die on the end of your tube, chartreuse is a
great choice, but you might try orange or red also. With the fall pattern, an angler will catch fish in
a variety of patterns and depths. The bait fish will be in the weeds and
in the middle of the lake. Keep an eye on your electronics all the time.
The worst mistake you may make is not turning them on. Start with points
leading into pockets. You should find success with this. For you anglers thinking about the crappie bite,
now is the time. Don't hesitate on some great fall bass and crappie
action! Until next time............................................. GOOD FISHING!
