The day started off cloudy with West winds.  In a few short hours we were facing clearing skies and a NNW wind.  (COLD FRONT) We first started fishing for Crappie on the N end, throwing CURLY TAIL jigs (Junebug w/ Chartruse Tail) Not having much luck, after 2 hrs, I put the open face reels away and broke out the Baitcasters.

"It was time to catch some Green Backs"

Faced with a NNW wind, Blue Bird Sky and falling temps, I knew we were in for a tough day.  Staying positive and not giving up was the key. I started up the boat & headed to the South end of the ski area ( Main Lake ) I was cranking a DT 6 in crawfish pattern & my co-angler was jerking a X RAP. We started fishing outside edges of shallow flats, and got bit quickly. Both catching a Bass on our starting lures, I decided to get in my box & tie on a pointer.  Catching 4 more within the hour........,  I was itchin' to go crankin' Heading down to the Spanish house area and breaking out the crankbaits.  Catching 1 in the first 30 min. (4lbs) in 5-6 ft of water on a DT 6.  Leaving this area, we headed to Shawnee creek, & cranked & cranked & cranked...............
You get the picture!

It wasn't looking good, so I decided to head back up to the Main Lake. Picking up our Jerk-Bait Rods & sticking to this technique was the right move. Within moments, I landed 2 more healthy fish on the Pointer 100 Sp. (Auroro Black)

Catching 10 Bass total, 4 over 16in.,3 in the slot, and 3 under 14in.
The 5 fish limit weighed about 15 pounds, the day had ended well.
