The day started off clear with NE winds, but upon my arrival the clouds were moving in. I had planned on starting my fishing trip earlier, but things just didn't work out in the morning. (work)

Faced with frigid air temps, plus the dropping water temps over the last few days, I pretty much new the bite was going to be tough.

I started up the boat & headed to the Mid Lake area. I first started with a shakey head, throwing it for about 20 - 30 mins. Not even getting the slightest bump, I picked up my DT 6 and slowly went to work. Of course you all know that this is a good search bait. I hadn't been crankin for only a few mins. and caught my first bass of the day. I continued to crank for about an 1 1/2  hours, catching 4 more bass.

I then decided to abandon this technique and area do to a tournament we are fishing next weekend. Hopefully the bass will still be there. I moved on back to the main lake, reaching for my jerk bait. I spent the next 2 hours talking to myself and the fish. The areas I was fishing in the main lake (up front) just wasn't going to give up a bite. By this time the day was over, and I was getting colder. In the short amount of time I had to practice I caught 3 over,1 under,1 in the slot.

I was told, later that evening, about the results of a tournament held on the lake today. There was only one 5 fish limit weighed in over 16 in. in length. GOOD JOB!
