Bass Fishing Report; Braidwood Lake ; Apr. 22, 2007

Air Temp: 83, and Sunny
Water Temp: 72
Water Clarity: Slightly stained
Winds: 30-35 from the south

Well, I spent another day out on Braidwood this past weekend. I got out there about 11:00 and the winds were already really strong and they had the red flag out to warn boaters of the gusty conditions. With that the case, I still proceeded to go out for a day of fishing. I decided to start out by the walleye pond and try to work some of those drops and humps with jigs, shaky heads and cranks. I lost a couple on a jig, but was not able to hook up partially due to the wind. After giving up back there, I picked up a crank bait and finished my day out throwing that to rip rap banks and rocky points on the main lake. I was able to hook up with one nice chunk off of a windblown point on a fire tiger bomber crank. The fish was holding in about 7 feet of water and was on the top of this point. Although that was the only fish I was able to get into the boat, I did end up missing a few others in this area. All fish were located on the windy side of the point, or the top, and there was a slight mud line five yards of the shore.

If anyone has any questions, please fell free to email me for further details.

Tight Lines and God Bless
