Braidwood Lake Report
3/11/2007
Darin Roddick-Small
Conditions:
Clear skies, Light Winds, Upper 50’s
Water: Lightly stained
Well I got out on the water for the first time this year. I was able to
get out with Frank U who was learning the ropes of being a boat owner
and operator for the first time. We headed out to Braidwood for a couple
hours of fishing and practice running the new boat. While waiting to get
on the water I was able to do a little dock talking and from the sounds
of things, bass are biting on Rat-L-Traps on the breaks. Upon getting
going we headed for our first spot.
At our first spot I started out by throwing a crank bait and Frank was
throwing a spinner bait and a lipless crank bait. He caught our first
and only bass on a white lipless crank. I ended up also having a couple
good strikes on a black jig-n-pig with a white trailer. Aside from that,
we did not get anything. We did see one nice bass caught in the boat
next to us, it went about 2-21/2 pounds. If you have any questions,
please feel free to drop me a PM on the message board.
