Bass Fishing Report; Barren River Lake; Aug 1, 2006

The lake is in full summer swing. With the almost 100 degree days the fishing is a little tough. The lake temp at 11:00 p.m. was about 87.6. Thermocline seemed to be holding around the 18-22' mark.

I fished from 11:00 p.m. til about 4:00 a.m.. Had three small keepers and a few dinks and slots. The fish I found came off main lake channel swings on bluff walls. The walls need to have a rock slide to them with about 12-16' of water.   If you have not been to the lake in the winter pool stage to see the rock slides it might be a difficult pattern. The best suggestion I can make is to look at the bluff walls and see if there are no big trees on top. This sometimes helps to locate the slides.

Ater this weekend I will tell you exactly were and what I caught them on. Till then have a safe week and remember, getting them in the boat is what counts.
