BILL AND TONY ROST TAKE THE WIN!
Rend Lake, August 19, 2006, by Aaron Wehmeyer

43 Boats
Air Temp:  91 Degrees
Winds:  W 5-10mph
Water Temp: 85 Degrees

Cloudy skies with a threat of rain cleared off to another hot and muggy day as 43 teams headed out on the water on Rend Lake.  The fishing was pretty good despite the conditions with many 5 fish limits brought to the weigh-in.

Bill and Tony Rost of Dahlgren, IL took 1st place with a nice limit of 14.13lbs.  They were able to catch 6 keepers throughout the day to round off a nice bag of fish.  Crankbaits and worms were the baits of choice for the team and they found their fish holding in 0-6 feet along rip rap banks.  They take home a nice check for $1435 for their efforts.

In 2nd place is the team of Craig Cimarolli and Jake Hurst, both from New Athens, IL.  They were able to catch 6 keepers for the day with their best 5 for 12.52 pounds.  One of the fish was Big Bass for the day at 5.36lbs.  Their fish fell victim to spinnerbaits and tubes with the Big Bass falling for a tube fished by Craig.  They brought home checks totaling $1189 for the day.

3rd place went to Mark Jelley of Zeigler, IL and Steve Sizemore of Carterville , IL.  They culled through 9 keepers for their limit of 12.39 pounds.  They threw crankbaits and jigs to catch their fish and took home $492 for the day
