The 5th tournament for Division 11 of the Bass World Sports Team Trail at Rend Lake took place on August 18th , 46 teams of anglers took to the water in hopes of catching the winning bag of fish.  Rand Lake again showed its true colors as many five fish limits were carried to the scale.  When the dust settled Brad Schoenrock and Billy Wooden took advantage of an early bite to win with 15.90 lbs.  It took 13.10 to get a spot in the check line.  Most all anglers weighed fished today, with a variety of methods used to catch them.

The top Three places were:

Brad Schoenrock and Billy Wooden caught the tournament winning stringer of 15.90 lbs.  They stated that they caught their fish early using Bandit crankbaits in the 5-7 foot range.  All of their fish were relating to rock in the mid-lake area.  Brad was also the Ranger Cup winner for an additional $250.

The team of Mike Goessman and Bobby Atchison came in second with 15.15 lbs.  They reported catching their fish in a variety of ways.  They threw jigs, tubes, lizards and spinnerbaits all on wood cover to catch their limit of fish.  They reported catching their fish in the mid-lake region also.  Jet-A-Marina, Winn-Nelson Air Conditioning and Heating, Mercury Outboards and Goessman Construction sponsor their team.

The team of Brett Boldrey and Terry Hale  hauled in a 13.48 lb bag of fish, good enough for third place.  They caught their fish in the mid-lake region in 5-7 feet of water on rock, using Bagley crankbaits.  The team reported catching their fish early and then again late in the tournament day.  B & B Labradors sponsor their team.

Dan Wessman caught the big bass of the tournament weighing in at 5.70 lbs.  This fish was caught around 9 am on a white spinnerbait.  Dan reported catching big bass in another tournament on this very bait.
