HENTRUP AND SCHROEING WIN FINAL AT PATOKA
HENDERSON AND HOLDEN CROWNED POINT CHAMPIONS

1st Place Charlie Hentrup and John Schroeing

CHARLIE HENTRUP OF NEW ALBANY AND JOHN SCHROEING OF JASPER WON HOOSIER OPEN’S FINAL QUALIFYING EVENT OF THE SEASON BY LESS THAN ONE POUND.  AFTER A SLOW START DURING THE EARLY PRIME HOURS, THE ANGLING DUO CAME ON STRONG WITH A SIX-BASS LIMIT WEIGHING 21.76 LBS. Their fish were Caught by casting 10 inch Power worms to submerged grass. They received checks totaling $3,545.00 for the win.

FOR THE SECOND TOURNAMENT IN A ROW, DAVID LEISMAN AND MIKE PAYNE WERE THE RUNNER-UPS BY LESS THAN ONE POUND.

DONNIE HOLDEN OF MAXWELL AND KENNY HENDERSON OF SHIRLEY WEIGHED THREE BASS IN ROUTE TO BECOMING OUR 2006 POINT CHAMPIONS.  THEY WON THE TITLE WITH 513 ACCUMULATED POINTS, 55 MORE THAN THE SECOND PLACE TEAM.  DONNIE AND KENNY WILL BE RECOGNIZED AND AWARDED THE “POINT LEADER” PACKAGE AT OUR CLASSIC BANQUET AT TELL CITY, SEPTEMBER 29.

2nd place – David Leisman of St. Anthony & Mike Payne both of Hatfield, IN Caught a 6 bass limit weighing 20.94 lbs. Their fish were Caught casting plastic to various depths of grass and wood. They Won $1,550.00 for the finish.

3^rd place – Jay Knies & Ted Scheeter, both of Jasper, IN. bagged a six bass limit weighing 17.43 lbs. The team Caught their fish casting plastics and buzz baits to submerged grass and wood and Won $865.00 for the finish.

Big bass -  Bill Buckner of Scottsburg & Roger Madden of Austin, IN. The Big bass weighed in at a hefty 5.67 lbs. and was Caught casting a plastic worm to deep grass. They Won $1,040.00, (caught three bass, 10th place $210 + $830 = $1,040.00

TOURNAMENT STATS:
63 of 83 (76%) teams caught 152 bass weighing 428.24 lbs. (2.8 lb. average) Biggest bass - 5.67 lbs.; 2^nd biggest bass – 5.54 lbs. Total cash paid to 12 teams - $9,429.00
