Johnson and Bakotic TAKE THE WIN!!
Fox Chain of Lakes, Aug 5, 2007, by Darin Roddick-Small

Conditions:
Air Temperature: Mid 80’s
Water Temperature: 79.4
Water Clarity: Cloudy
Skies: Rain changing to sun
Wind: From the South 0-5 mph

The day started with everyone meeting at the ramps with rain falling and with no sign of it letting up. The forecast was for it to eventually stop sometime in the early afternoon. At the pretournament meeting, the news was saying that an inch and a half had fallen already at 5:30 AM; at least it looked like the lightning had moved out of the area. All in all, 22 boats decided to brave the weather for a day’s fishing.

The top honors on this day would go to the duo of Johnson and Bakotic from McHenery and Fox Lake , IL . They weighed in a 5 fish limit of largemouths that weighed in at 14.57 pounds. The team worked the deep weed edges of the lakes to locate their fish using jigs. The team also had the big bass of the day a 5.9 largemouth that earned them an extra $180. For their top finish on this day, they took home $1286. Congratulations on your win guys and a great bag of fish. The team would like to thank their sponsors, Snag Proof Lures and Keith Johnson Masonry for their support.

Coming in just behind them was the team of Groh and Schmel from Antioch , IL . This team also was working the deep weeds, but with plastics for their fish. They brought in a 5 fish limit as well for a weight of 14.44 pounds. For their efforts, they earned $784. They would like to thank Triangle Sports and Marine, badhabitfishing.com and JM Pickers for their support. Great job guys.

Third place went to the team of Templin and Koffler. They brought in a 5 fish limit of 13.57 pounds. They could not be located for an interview.

I would like to thank Anglers Choice for putting on a fine tournament and you can find complete results on their website at www.anglerschoice.com.
