ERIC NESWONGER & KYLE RADAKE TAKE THE WIN! The second event of the year for the Southern Illinois Division at Lake of Egypt started out with the temp at 58 degrees with sunny skies. The conditions were right for a great catch and the anglers came through. With only 3.87 pounds difference between first place and sixth place. The total number of fish weighed in was 152 that totaled 414.29 pounds with 41 teams signed up that’s an average of over 10 pounds per team GREAT CATCH! The total pay out for 6 places in the event was $4957.00. The big bass of the day earned one team $410.00 plus a $50.00 big bass bonus sponsored by GOLDEN EAGLE DISTRIBUTING (BUDWEISER ) in Marion. for a total of $480.00 Thanks to our local sponsors Dunn’s Sporting Goods, Golden Eagle Distributing, Best One Tire in Marion and Harrisburg, Harrisons Sport Shop, Zeigler Feed and Bait Shop, Hill Printing in Marion,Valle Printing in Harrisburg and www.futurebass.com. The first place team of Eric Neswonger and Kyle Radake reported catching their fish using spinner baits and jigs in 8 to 10 feet of water on the north end of the lake. The team also reported that they caught 12 keepers through out the day to end up with a sack of fish that weight in at 21.19 pounds that earned them $1465.00 for the first place win and entering the option money worth $135.00 earning the team checks totaling $1600.00. The team is sponsored by Seaguar line, Setter rods, Flying fisherman sun glasses. The second place team of Jerry Bates and Brandon Bate reported catching 15 keeper fish through out the day using jigs in shallow water. The team ended the day with a respectable 19.37 pound bag of fish that earned the team $955.00 for second place and $410.00 for big bass of the day plus the big bass bonus sponsored by Golden Eagle distributing of Marion and entering the option money worth $81.00. The teams catch earned them checks totaling $1496.00. The team is sponsored by Mercury outboards, Harrisons Sport Shop, Zeigler Feed and Bait and Motorguide trolling motors.
The third place team of Bob Craig and Terry Wilson reported catching most of their fish in 3 to 4 foot of water using crank baits and jigs. The team’s 18.56 pound stringer earned the team $680.00 for third place and entering the option money worth $51.00. The team earned checks totaling $731.00.
