The third event of the year Southern Illinois Division at Lake of Egypt started out with a comfortable 68 degrees, clear skies and winds gusting to 25 miles an hour. What a day on Lake of Egypt , 39 teams fished the tournament 34 boats weighed in a limit of fish. A total of 178 fish weighing 418.25 pounds were weighed in averaging 2.35 pounds. The top 6 angler’s weights range between 15.17 pounds and 16.89 pounds. GREAT CATCH GUYS!!

The first place team of Jerry Bate and Brandon Bate had a five limit that weighed in at 16.89 pounds. The team reported they caught all their fish on beds on the south end of the lake in shallow water on white tube bait. The team is sponsored by Mercury Outboards, Lowrance electronics, Harrison ’s Sports Shop, Dunn’s Sporting Goods, Zeigler Feed and Sport Shop, and MotorGuide. The team earned $1445.00 for first place and entering the option pot worth $260.00 the team took home checks totaling $1705.00.

The second place team of Deane Danback and Ronald Robbs reported they caught all their fish on chatter bait on wind blown banks on the main lake. The team had a five fish limit that weighed in at 16.82 pounds, earning the team checks totaling $915.00. The team is sponsored by Tim Danback Construction, LLC, Millers Insurance in Fredericktown , MO , Dave’s Country Cupboard in Marquanel , MO and friends.

The third place team of Glen Dalton and Rusty Rosenthal reported that they caught all their fish in post spawn on wood and wind blown banks using tubes and spinner baits. The team weighed in a five fish limit that weighed in at 16.71 pounds, the team earned checks totaling $796.00. The team is sponsored by Lorene’s Family Dinning in Coulterville , Illinois , Lowrance electronics. Suffix Fishing Line, Quantum Fishing Reels, and MotorGuide trolling motors.

The big bass of the day was caught by Jason Hodge and Rick Battle. The fish weighed in at 5.39 pounds. The team reported catching the fish in the shallow water using spinner bait. The team earned $390.00 plus $50.00 Golden Eagle Distributing of Marion bonus money totaling $440.00. The team is sponsored by Hodges Tree Service.
