The
First event of the year Southern Il Division at Lake of Egypt started
out with clear skies, light winds with an 18 degrees temperature and a
of 32 degrees. Water temperatures ranged from 38 to 54 degrees, did not
slow the bite. 33 boats turned out to battle the elements and it paid
off. I was not surprised to see 9 boats catch a limit. A total of 78
fish weighing 224.20 lbs were weighed in averaging 2.88 lbs, 4 fish
exceeded 5 lbs And 8 fish exceeded 4 lbs. The top 5 anglers weights
ranged between 17.15 and 19.85. THANK YOU GUY`S!
The
first place team of Eric Neswonger and Kyle Radake caught a 5 fish limit
using jigs and jerk baits in 5-10 foot of water on the main lake to take
the win. The team reported they caught fish throughout the day their big
fish weighting in at 4.70. They had a total weight of 19.85 lbs an
average of 3.97 lbs per fish that earned them a check for $1410.00 and
entering option pot $170.00 earning checks totaling $1580.00.
The
second place team of Steve Sanders and Greg Gorden reported they caught
their fish in the back of a pocket off of the north end of the lake
using jerk baits and crank baits. The team weighed in 5 fish with a
total weight of 18.84 lbs. Second place earned the team $815.00 and
entering the option pot $102.00 the team received checks totaling
$917.00. The team is sponsored by Sratos Boats and American Rodsmiths
Rods.

third place team of Jack Doan and Ben Doan from
The fourth place team of jerry Bate and Brandon Bate reported they caught most of their fish near main lake points in the north end using Drop Shot rigs and slow rolling Spinner Baits. The team caught fish throughout the day with 20 keepers over 16in. The team had 5 fish weight 17.41 earning them checks totaling $365.00 The team is sponsored by Dunn’s Sporting Goods,Harrisons Sport Shop, Triton Boats, Mercury Outboards, Zeigler Feed and Bait, Lorence, Moterguide.
The Fifth place team of Jeff Berger and Jeff Faust reported they caught all their fish on Spinnerbaits in the main lake area, their big fish weight in at 5.08. The team had a 5 fish limit weight in at 17.15 lbs earning the team checks totaling $255.00.
