ANGLER'S CHOICE

LONNIE BOWLIN & DAVID (BOO) GUILL TAKE THE WIN!
Lake Egypt, November 12, 2006, by Earl Sigley

The first event of the year (winter choice) at Lake of Egypt started out with a light fog clear skies and calm winds. Days like this normally mean tough, but not for a lake that constantly produces stringers of 5 fish limits averaging 16 to 20 pounds. Anglers reported they caught their fish in various depths ranging from 1 foot to 30 feet using frogs, spinner baits, crank baits and drop shots, Carolina rigs and jigs. This amazing body of water centered in the heart of Southern Illinois , gives anglers a chance of catching a fish of a life time.

The first place team of Lonnie Bollin & David (BOO) Guill caught their fish in shallow water using crank baits to take the win. When (BOO) signed up for the tournament he signed up boat # 13. Being slightly superstitious did not want that #. But the # did change the final result. The team had a total weight of 12.61 lbs earning them a check for $1067.00. The team is sponsored by. Zeigler Outdoors, Harrison’s Sports shop and Benton carpet outlet.

The second place of Terry Wilson & J.D Andrews reported they caught their fish in depths exceeding 26 feet using Carolina rigs. The team weighed in 4 fish with a total weight of 11.46 lbs; Entering the option pot and second place earned the team checks totaling $754.00.

In third place is the team of Jerry Bate & Brandon Bate. The team caught their fish in 8 to 10 feet of water using jigs. With 4 fish totaling 10.63 lbs entering option pot and third place earned the team checks totaling $450.00.

The team of Mike Goesman & Mike Anderson received forth place and had big bass of the day. The big bass weighed in at 4.32 lbs. The fish was caught in shallow water weeds using jigs. Entering the side pot, fourth place and big bass earned the team checks totaling $264.00.
