Steve Sanders and Greg Gorden TAKE THE WIN!

The third event of the year (winter choice) at Lake of Egypt started out with cloudy skies, light rain, calm winds with an unseasonable temperature of 42 degrees. Water temperatures ranged from 44 to 56 degrees. With 16 boats fishing the tournament I was not surprised to see 11 boats catch a limit. A total of 64 fish weighing 153.21 lbs were weighed in averaging 2.40 lbs.

The first place team of Steve Sanders and Greg Gorden from Vienna IL caught a 5 fish limit using jigs in 5-10 foot of water to take the win. The team reported they caught fish throughout the day their big fish weighting in at 5.13. They had a total weight of 18.96 lbs that earned them a check for $1015.00 and entering option pot $130.00 earning checks totaling $1145.00.         

The second place team of Lonnie Bollin and David (BOO) Guill reported they caught their fish in 10-15 foot of water using black jigs and Carolina rigs. The team weighed in 5 fish with a total weight of 14.85 lbs. Second place earned the team checks totaling $590.00. The team is sponsored by Zeigler Outdoors, Harrison’s Sports Shop and Benton Carpet Outlet. 

The big bass of the day was caught by the team of Deane Danback and Ronald  Robbs. The team reported they caught the 5.17lb fish on a jig in 8 to 10 foot of water. The fish earned the team $160.00 big bass pot and $50.00 GOLDEN EAGLE DISTRIBUTING big bass sponsor for a total of $210.00.
