Friday
night August 10th was our final meeting and we were
blessed to be invited to the Clinton First Christian Church. I
felt as if I were at my grandmother’s house with all the good
food. They treated us with pork roast and mashed potatoes and
gravy, corn, rolls, applesauce etc… Yummy! We look forward to
returning next season. Pastor Greg Taylor gave us the Word of God
by showing us how universal, sacrificial, and how personal God’s
love is. John 3:16. It brought three people to rededicate their
lives to Christ. Amen!
Saturday
morning was clear and breezy but that would soon turn to heat and
humidity with the temperatures climbing into the upper eighties.
Fifteen teams showed up to contend for cash prizes and bragging
rights for the year end points championship. These anglers had to
deal with tough fishing conditions as only one limit of five bass
were brought to the scale.

The
team of Dale McCumsey of
Farmer
City
and H.R. Kirby (Substitute for Dan Reynolds) brought in five bass
that weighed 11.23 lbs. earning them $932.50 in prize money.

Second
Place
goes to the team of Bryan Thrasher from
Mansfield
and Mark Mixel (Substitute for Jeff Henson) with three fish that
weighed 9.74 lbs. They also caught the Big Bass of the tournament
with a largemouth that weighed 4.40 lbs. earning them $607.50 in
prize money.

Third
place was the team of Bryan Williams from Mahomet and Michael
Sanders from
Monticello
with four bass that weighed 7.99 lbs. to give them $275.00 in
prize money.
Terry
Potts of Clinton and Ian Estes from Mahomet caught the second
biggest bass for an award of $60.
With
their third place finish on Saturday Bryan Williams and Michael
Sanders became our 2007 Division Champions by earning them $465 in
Cash, Jackets and plaques from the national office, and an
automatic berth in the no entry fee National Championship where
the best of the best will compete for a brand new Triton TR-20X
Bass Boat with a 200HP Mercury outboard. Congratulations guys.
The
Midwest Regional Championship will be held September 21 & 22
on Lake Wissota in
Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin where the best from the Midwest will
compete for a brand new Triton Tr-186 Bass Boat with a 150HP
