The
Central Illinois Division would like to thank the First Christian
Church in
Farmer
City
for inviting us in and serving us a wonderful meal! Pat Smith and
his family have been with us since we started our division and we
are so blessed by their hospitality. We were treated with pork
chop sandwiches that people are still talking about,
Texas
style beans and potato salad. Then it was on to dessert with
brownies and ice cream. WOW! Thank you so much.
Our
Director Carl Parks gave his testimony through which one young
lady gave her life to Christ and three people rededicated there
lives. Amen!
Saturday
morning was calm and crisp about 40 degrees but by the afternoon
it warmed up nicely to about 72 degrees with sunny skies. The wind
was out of the south at approx. 15 mph. Twenty two teams took to
the water at first light in hopes that they would return to the
Clinton Marina at 3:00 pm for the weigh-in with the winning bag of
fish.

The
team of Travis Boley and John McKinney overtook the rest of the
field with five fish weighing in at a whopping 20.49 lbs. Travis
and John also won the Big Bass honors with a Largemouth Bass
weighing 6.20 lbs. Total prize money for the team was $1,172.00.
Congratulations guys on winning our first event.
Second
Place
and $674.00 was won by the team of Terry Potts and Ian Estes with
four fish weighing 15.21 lbs. They also won Second Big Bass honors
with a Largemouth weighing 5.93 lbs. Great job!
Third
Place
was Bob Nelson and Jack (Bass)Peplow with five fish weighing 12.22
lbs. winning their team a total of $416.00.
Fourth
Place
goes to the team of Jay Peterson and Mike Barnes with four fish
weighing 9.57 lbs., which paid them $238.00

Our
next event will be a Legacy Tournament (Adult/Junior) on May 5th
at
Clinton
Lake
. The Friday night prior to the tournament we will have a
pre-tournament meeting with a free meal at 6:30 p.m. If you are
already a member of Fishers of Men there is no membership fee,
otherwise the membership fee is $25 per team. The entry fee is $75
per team and it will pay one place per three boats. The tournament
hours are from safe light until 1:00 PM. Weigh-in will be at the
Clinton Marina. Stop by and see us!
