Fishers of Men South Central Kentucky finished up the season
on Barren River Lake June 17th, 2006. The Friday night
pre-tournament meeting was held at Barren River Lake State Park,
and all participants were treated to a cookout with all the
trimmings. Special thanks to Joel Franks and Tom Meadows for
taking the time to help with food preparation. North Kentucky
Director Tom Meadows delivered the evening message, and 3 anglers
rededicated their lives to the Lord.
With temperatures in the 90's most of the week, most anglers were
finding fish moving closer to their Summer pattern.
The 1st place team of Eric Sanders and Michael Myers put
together a solid limit of Largemouth weighing in at 16.25 lbs to
take their first win of the season, secured by the 2nd big fish of
the tournament, tipping the scales at 4.84 lbs. Sanders reported
that they have been catching bedding fish in the same area for
several weeks, and with the current temps in the 90's, they were a
little surprised to find a couple of big fish still in the same
area. They were rewarded checks totaling $1241.00 for their
effort.
Finishing 2nd with 14.83 and first place Big Fish weighing in at
5.43 lbs, Jeremy Bowen and Mike Walker took home checks totaling
$686.00.
3rd Place went to the Adult/Jr. team of Mark and Ian Owens,
with a 5 fish limit weighing in at 13.94 lbs worth $484.00.
Doug Coulter and Todd Wison finished up an outstanding season with
their 4th place finish, securing the Points Championship and a
trip to the National Championship with their 12.49 lbs limit. They
were rewarded checks totaling $1000.00 for their effort, and will
represent the South Central Kentucky Division at the National
Championship later next year. Congratulations on a job well done!
The South Central Kentucky Division will begin the 2007 season
