Pro Tips

"Improving Casting Accuracy"
I can’t stress how important bait presentation and accuracy is when fishing.  Making half hearted casts that cause a big splash will spook fish.  A quiet lure presentation and an accurate cast is an absolute must when tournament fishing.  Control is not created overnight, and putting the bait where you want it to go takes practice.
"Organizational Tactics"
Most anglers carry around a tremendous amount of tackle, so being organized is an absolute must!
"Flipping…..It’s all about the right equipment "
I love to flip cover and I’ve found that using the right equipment is essential to this type of technique.  For some reason it’s become the norm to use the longest stiffest rod and the heaviest monofilament line when flipping.  In fact, this is not always the case.  I’ve put together a few guidelines that have helped me “catch” more bites by matching the right line to the right rod.
"Tungsten Weights"
I never thought I’d see the day when an angler would pay $5–6 for one or two weights, but I’ve sure done it a bunch! Tungsten weights are an extremely dense material making them extremely hard and very small.
