"Tungsten Weights"

Tungsten
weights offer unique capabilities to fishermen today.
I never thought I’d see the day when an angler would pay $5–6 for
one or two weights, but I’ve sure done it a bunch! Tungsten weights
are an extremely dense material making them extremely hard and very
small. I love to use tungsten weights, especially in deep structure or
heavy vegetation such as the mattes on Okeechobee. In comparison to a
typical lead weight tungsten is only about half the diameter. One
thing to watch out for is using glass beads as rattles on your line.
The tungsten weights tend to crack the beads, which can cause cuts in
your line.
I
believe the good features far outweigh the bad, and I’m to the point
where I almost exclusively use tungsten weights. The brand I use is
Penetrator, which is a company out of
Florida
. Penetrator has a great product mainly due to an outstanding paint
job and coating that makes them very durable. Penetrator also offers
sizes that no other company does – sizes up to 1 3/4 oz.
If
you haven’t tried Penetrator’s tungsten weights I suggest giving
them a try. They are well
worth the money.
