1st
Place Dean Capra
Can you say
two in a row. Last year Dean and his wife purchased a cabin on the
Whitefish Chain of lakes and it looks like weekends at the
cabin have paid off. Dean used countless hours on the lake to
locate two good schools of largemouth's. He found them in
deep thick vegetation and used a Northland Jungle jig tip with a
Berkley Gulp grub trailer to work them out. After his schools
shut down it was time to cover water with a Rapala DT 10.
Dean estimated using over $70.00 worth of gas running all over the
Chain to put together a 16+lb bag to best the field of 67 pro's. Dean
seems to be unstoppable, watch for him on Pokegama to see if
he can three-peat.

2nd
Place Grant Miller
Grant located
a thick patch of Coontail that seemed to hold good fish in
practice. Tournament day Grant used a Senko and Chomper's Salty
sinkers to pick through the area. Grant ended up catching the
tournaments biggest fish a 5.9 lbs largemouth to anchor his 14.12
lbs bag.

3rd place Doug
Pietrzak
Doug located a
school of fish in some deep cabbage and put on a clinic for the
first 45 minutes of the tournament. He used a Shaggy Jig with
Woodies Rattler's and a Zoom swim chunk and also a tube jig to get
his fish to go. After the school settled down Doug went from spot
to spot working the tube jig to put together a 5 fish
bag that tipped the scales at 14.10 lbs. Doug gave
credit to his Setry rods, he felt they gave him the sensitivity
and power he needed to get those fish out of the heavy cover.
