Tanner
and Schnur land Wapo Whoppers and the Points Championship
The
team of Mike Schnur and Craig Tanner not only won the Points
Championship on August 26 on
Lake
Wapogassett
near
Amery
,
WI
, they won the tournament as well. They had an enormous catch of
16.78 lbs of largemouth bass to beat the 20 boats by over 4lbs.
They reported catching over 20 keepers with most of them coming on
jigs between 9am and 1pm. They also had the big bass of the day
that tipped the scales at 4.39lbs. These were some of the nicest
fish taken on Wapogassett in some time. 2nd place went to Mike
Hansen and father Steve Hansen who caught 12.80 lbs. 3rd place
went to Steve Bahls
and Rob Keller with 11.69lbs and a 4.19 “Wapo Whopper”. It was
a great day to be on the water. Also, our top placing Adult/Jr
team was Josh Van Beek and John Van Beek. We wish you the best at
regionals. Great job everyone!
The
Friday night dinner meeting was held in Amery at the
New
Life
Community
Church
. What a blessing it was to have so many people from the church to
helping out. We appreciated it. Dave Hoggard of Catch-n.com was
our speaker and he talked about reaching out to kids with fishing
and how his life was changed 15 years ago when he quit drinking
and let God take control of his life. Make sure you check out his
website to see video of the tournament. It was fun to be able to
be a part of making it.
