We
were in the 3rd day of the same cold front the anglers
faced yesterday on Balsam Lake, in the Bill’s Series. As
with Balsam Lake, the front did not seem to have an adverse affect
on the bass in Wapo. 30 teams managed to bring128 bass to
the scales weighing a total of 232.83 pounds.

The
First Place honors and $600 went to the team of Frank Savino and
Greg Savino, with a 5-fish limit tipping the scales at 11.31
pounds.

Second
Place with a 5 Bass limit weighing 11.29 pounds was the team of
Robby Newhouse and Mike Anselmo.

Taking
the Third Place position with a 5 Bass limit weighing 10.50 pounds
was the team of Dennis Rhead and Chad Maves.
There
were 19 limits brought to the scales. Just about everyone
commented on large numbers of fish they caught throughout the day.
It
was unfortunate our host site, Waterside Bar and Grill, suffered a
fire a couple of months ago that totally destroyed the building.
A special thanks goes out to the owners, Ray and Pam Johnson, for
allowing us to use the site and launch, despite their loss.
Dale
Kastner, President of First Bank and Trust, Menomonie was on hand
to award the trophies and checks.
Be
sure to check out all the results from this tournament, plus the
YTD point standings. A team needs to accumulate a total of
300 points to qualify for the 2006 Wisconsin Bass Classic to be
held on the Minocqua Chain of Lakes in September. The top
point earning team will receive “Top Team of the Year”, which
includes free entry into next year’s Bear’s Series WTC
tournaments and 2 St. Croix Rods.
Our
next Bear’s Series tournament will be held July 9th
at Balsam Lake. The host site will be Paradise Landing and
the sponsor is Bill’s Distributing(Budweiser) of Menomonie.
