Cloudy
skies and temperatures in upper 70’s greeted the anglers when
they arrived at the ramp. Unfortunately the Waterside Bar &
Grill, which was our host site, suffered a fire this past
spring, that totally destroyed the building. The owners, Ray and
Pam Johnson were kind enough to let us use their landing to run
the tournament. Awards were presented at The Home Base Bar &
Grill.

35 teams
competing in this event brought a total of 149 bass to the
scales, weighing 307.43 pounds. All but one team weighed in
fish. First place honors again went to the team of Wes Haney
and Barry Rettke. They have been “hot” this season. Will it
carry into the next tournament? Their winning bag weighed 15.07
pounds. For their efforts, Wes and Barry received $1500 from
the tournament, $750 from Stratos Boats, $250 Warner’s Dock
Bucks for having purchased their Stratos there, plus $100
Warner’s Dock, Bucks for having a Minn Kota trolling motor, for
a grand total of $2600.
Be sure to check out all the results from
this tournament, plus the year-to-date points standings, as the
teams are trying to accumulate 300 points, to be eligible for
Wisconsin Bass Classic-2006 where they will be competing for
over $17,000.
Our last qualifying tournament in this
Series is August 19, 2006 at Long Lake. The host site for this
tournament is Fletch’s Reel’em Inn. The sponsor is Evinrude
Outboards.
