WI West Fishers of Men National Tournament Trail

Richardson and Johnson Red Hot on Red Cedar!
Red Cedar, July 22, 2006, by Jeff Bosshardt

Duane Richardson and Prestobn Johnson caught 16.16lbs of smallmouth bass on Red Cedar Lake near Birchwood, WI to win the Fishers of Men West WI tournament on July 22. They also had the Big Bass of the day at 4.43lbs. Second place went to the new points leader team of Mike Schnur and Craig Tanner who weighed 14.44lbs. of smallmouth and largemouth. Tanner and Schnur reported catching their fish early and within about a 45 minute span. Third place was a tie between the team of Bob Allen and Nathan Whiting and the team of Shawn Lannki and Jeff Allen. Both finished with 13.69lbs of both smallies and largies. They were also fishing very close to each other for most of their catches. Go figure.

Tournament conditions were mostly sunny with a brief shower in the morning, light winds, and temperatures around 85.

Pastor Mike Mcartney of Amery, WI was our speaker for the Friday night dinner meeting. Mcartney shared about Jesus being the ultimate fisherman. He detailed Jesus raising from the grave and like Peter, the disciple, we should follow him and make Him #1 on our lives.

Our next tournament is on Lake Wapogasset in Amery, WI on August 26. The meeting location will be announced soon. The weigh in will be at the Bible Camp on Bear Trap. It looks like a showdown between our top teams for the points title. Wapogasset always puts out a lot of fish. Who will catch the big ones?
