July 8th was the Multiple Sclerosis Bass
Circuit event on pool 8 of the Mississippi River in
La Crosse
,
Wisconsin
. There was a great turn out, and 63 teams showed up today despite
extreme temperatures approaching 95 degrees and relatively strong
winds. Fluctuating pool levels have kept things interesting for
anglers lately, and fishing was tough for many on this scorching
hot day. MSBC payed out to the top 9 places today.
Bruce Chandler and John Hamilton fought
through the tough conditions and put together a nice bag of eight
largemouth weighing 24.28 lbs. They fished slop and grass in and
near current with horny toads and lethal weapon swim jigs. Their
efforts earned them $2,268 plus $250 in MSBC bonus sponsorship
money. Bruce and John are sponsored by Ranger Boats, Minnkota
trolling motors, and Bob's Bait and Tackle.
Coming in 2nd place with 23.86 lbs was the
team of
Chad
and Phil Richardson. They caught all 8 of their largemouth fishing
crankbaits on wingdams and earned $1,418.
The 3rd place team of Wayne Donley and Todd
Donley brought in 23.58 lbs for their eight largemouth, earning
them a $1,064 check. They reported catching their fish in heavy
weeds with jigs and buzzbaits.
Mike Muller and Al Gray also found some nice
fish today, including their 5.58 lb big bass. Al Gray reported
catching his monster largemouth on wood with a Moon Spoon. Their
impressive largemouth earned the team $465 plus $50 in MSBC bonus
sponsorship money.
The next MSBC tournament is the CO-ED event
on August 4th out of Clinton Street West Landing in
La Crosse
.
